This beautiful tree trunk and roots caught my attention straight away. I’ve wanted to paint this subject since seeing the same motif in Vincent’s last painting before his death. Vincent depicted the roots as light blue and I wanted to do something similar with hues of turquoise blue. Despite the different medium, I try to unify my work by using similar palette as in my oil paintings.
