My summer excursion to Patvinsuo, North Karelia, sparked a creative journey. I photographed and sketched, mesmerized by the dead trees and vast expanses. Initially, I envisioned a night scene, but vibrant cadmium red, qinacridon magenta, and gold ended up transforming the scene. I’m still thinking whether this painting is still work in progress, or maybe I should focus on making additional versions of the scene.
